
A Utica Community Schools junior has been honored through two statewide film festivals.
Richard Tharrett, of Henry Ford II High School, is among 60 Michigan students honored through the Meijer Great Choices Film Festival for his PSA video titled "Don't Text and Drive."
Tharrett was honored in the Healthy Living category of the annual competition.
He was recognized at a film festival in Grand Rapids. Tharrett’s work will be shown with the other top Public Service Announcements created through the program.
Tharrett's PSA was previously honored at the Detroit Film Theater through the Digital Arts Film and Television (DAFT) festival.
